The British beret is a lighter wool and shapes easily. I like the idea of the various colors for specific unit types that the British have adopted. I39ve ordered the Brown amp the Green Royal Marines Beret. I also enjoy wearing some military style uniforms or uniform type clothing and the Berets go well with that clothing.
69 Commando of the Royal Malaysia Police adopted the tan beret as part of their uniform after the beret was conferred by the United Kingdom39s 22 SAS to the founding members of 69 Commando also known as VAT 69 Very Able Trooper 69 after completing SAS training in 1969. 69 Commando is the only unit in Malaysia wearing the tan beret. The first picture of a brown beret appears on page 140 of the June 1935 Journal which shows a group of officers and soldiers awaiting a police escort prior to entering Cairo. All of the group are wearing the normal service caps with the exception of Tpr Dobson who is sporting a brown beret.
